Humanising is a pioneering AI software company transforming the commercial fleet industry with Behavioral AI, Computer Vision, and Large Language Models (LLMs) designed for the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) market. Our mission is to enable technology to be built around people. We aim to become the leading software provider to the world’s exterior ADAS and in-cabin analysis market to enhance driver and road users safety and fleet efficiency in an evolving regulatory landscape, with unique solutions that adapt across hardware platforms and provide an empathetic, safety-first experience for drivers and road users alike.
We are now looking for a detail-oriented and proactive financial controller to support us in this next phase of our growth by managing our day-to-day financial operations ensuring accurate financial reporting and adherence to best practices.
What you will be doing
This role is critical in maintaining the financial integrity of the company and supporting our growth goals through effective budgeting, cash management, and compliance. You will work closely with the CFO and leadership team to provide insights, control expenses, and improve financial processes.
Your responsibilities will include:
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Develop, monitor, and maintain the company's budget and forecasts in collaboration with department heads.
- Implement best practices to track expenditures against budgets and highlight potential overages proactively.
- Participate in financial planning to support strategic business decisions and assist with preparation of financial reports to different stakeholders.
Cash Flow Management
- Monitor cash flow and ensure liquidity for operational needs.
- Optimise working capital by managing receivables, payables, and cash collection processes.
Accounting Operations
- Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Ensure timely and accurate closing of financial books each financial reporting period
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls for financial reporting.
Compliance and Tax Management
- Ensure adherence to tax regulations, filing requirements, and reporting standards.
- Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits, if required
- Maintain regulatory compliance, including VAT, R&D credits, and any industry-specific financial obligations.
Process Improvement
- Evaluate existing accounting processes and suggest improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
- Leverage financial software tools and automation to streamline processes and reporting.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives and actively seek ways to optimize financial operations.
Vendor & Assets Management
- Own relationships for key vendor services, e.g office, insurance, healthcare etc
- Monitor software subscription usage and report inefficiencies to the CFO and the leadership team as needed.
- Maintain IT Assets Register from a finance perspective with the support of the VP of Technology.
Enhancement of operational efficiencies in HR
- Partner with HR to streamline payroll processes, ensuring compliance with tax laws, minimizing errors, and optimizing cash flow for salary payments and bonuses
- Support HR function with policy drafting and implementation while ensuring compliance with financial regulations
We are looking for someone who has
- 3-5+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles, ideally within a startup, high-growth company.
- ACCA or equivalent certification preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in accounting softwares (e.g. Xero) and Excel, with skills in data analysis and financial modeling.
- A proactive and self-driven mindset with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and collaborations skills.
The role will involve large responsibility and autonomy within the company, and require the ability to work both independently as well as part of a creative core team of designers, data scientists, and engineers.
